The goal of the Mental Health Advisory Council is to help Equip for Equality make sure our policies and priorities about people with mental illness are focusing on what the community needs.

What it does

Equip for Equality’s Mental Health Advisory Council works to advance the civil and human rights of people with mental illness in Illinois.  The council is made of both consumers and advocates, including:

  • People with mental illness
  • Family members
  • Attorneys
  • Mental health professionals
  • Community members who are knowledgeable about mental illness
  • Providers of mental health services
