Resource Guide for People with Disabilities

Thank you for your interest in the Resource Guide for Persons with Disabilities (2005 edition).

Equip for Equality (EFE) partnered with the Young Lawyers Section Mental Health and Disability Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) to update the Resource Guide, a collaboration that began in 1996 as a means to respond to individuals with disabilities, their families, disability advocates, and service providers who stated that they lacked information about the seemingly countless disability-related services available in Illinois. The Illinois Attorney General's Disability Rights Bureau also teamed up with EFE and the CBA to update the current Guide.

With this new edition, EFE developed a large print version of the Resource Guide as well. A limited number of copies in regular and large print are available by contacting our office directly. Alternatively, copies can be found directly on our website.

We also recognize that many of the agencies listed in the Resource Guide will change their contact information over time. Therefore, we plan to update the contact information at least annually by creating an update list for the pre-printed Guides, and by directly amending the website version to the extent practicable. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any suggestions about agencies to be listed for future editions of the Guide as well as if you have any corrections or updates to the current Guide.

Thank you again for your interest in the Resource Guide. We hope this Guide will be a valuable asset to you and to all individuals with disabilities in Illinois.
